Some of you are stopping by my blog in the middle of a Blog Hop! Welcome!
I am new to this whole "blog hop" thing.
You should have just come over from Tifany DeGough's blog.
If you just stumbled over here randomly, you can get on board, beginning over at The Twinery blog, or Echo Park Paper blog.

I like happy colors.
I really do.
I have an orange bathroom in my house.
Everyone in the family prefers it.
How do I know this?
Because every time I use it, the toilet paper is out.
Happy colors make me happy!
And happy colors is what I always get with Echo Park Paper kits.
Recently, us lucky girls on the EP design team, got to do a product swap with The Twinery.
Check this out!
This what I got in the mail!
Isn't it pretty?
Don't you kind of want to roll around in it?
For the product swap, we just had to make a few projects featuring the happy twine, and some happy Echo Park paper.
So what did I do?
I made a sort-of depressing layout. (Just the journaling is depressing.)
I pulled out some older photos of Mikayla to work with.
She is eight now.
She was three then.
Sadness.
You can click on the layout, to get a larger image, and read the journaling.
I wanted to show you a couple of little tricks I used on this layout.
I made a title banner using twine to hang the pennants. I found that when you slightly curl the top of the pennants over the twine, they look more like they are hanging there. I also like to curl the bottoms of the pennants up to add dimension.
Another trick I use a lot with double sided patterned paper, is to tear an edge, and fold it up--to expose the other side of the patterned paper.
Here is a closer look:
(The chevron pattern is printed on the opposite side of the floral patterned paper.)
The Twinery twine is a perfect match to Echo Park Papers.
I loved working with it!
Here are a few cards I made.
I used scraps from my Echo Park Paper Stash.
Most of the papers I used are from the Country Drive paper kit, or the Dots and Stripes Collection.
I used twine to create a flight path for my bumblebee.
I drew the line first in pencil:
traced the pencil lines using a clear-drying glue,:
then adhered the twine, and trimmed it,:
and lastly, added an Echo Park bee sticker, and a sentiment!:
Easy peasy birthday card!
Here are a couple more cards using the delicious twine, and Echo Park:
One more:
Thanks for taking a look!
I hope you *need* to go buy some twine, and Echo Park paper now.
I am always in the market to enable folks.
Make sure you leave a comment on my blog because there are apparently prizes (from Echo Park and The Twinery) for those who leave comments on each of the "blog hop" designer's blogs.
The deadline for commenting is 11:59pm EST, Friday, August 19th. Prizes will be announced on Saturday, August 20th.
I am going to personally give away an Echo Park paper kit (of your choice) from the comments on this post.
Leave me an e-mail address, so I can contact you, and the name of the Echo Park Paper kit of your choice.
This means you have THREE CHANCES to be a winner!

I love your layout and feel you about the kids growing up too quickly. I have 3... ages 15, 3 and 1. I'm feeling that way about the baby right now. I wish I could keep her this age a while longer. That layout is beautiful. I LOVE the banner and agree that the curling adds that something extra! The bee card is ADORABLE, too!!! Thanks for the extra chance to win. My e-mail addy is butterflyluv77@gmail.com and I would love the Victoria Gardens paper pack... unless of course I won that one from The Twinery giveaway. (Wishful thinking!!!)
