So today is apparently my 34th birthday. All this past year I have thought I was 32, and would be turning 33, but I guess not. I figured that one out last night when I was making my own birthday cake at quarter to eleven at night. I did the math, well, actually my ten year old did, and he is pretty good at math....

So I guess technically, I lost a whole year today.

Par for the course, cause I think birthdays suck anyway.

On a lighter note, I found out that high-waisted pants are back in. That means my whole stay at home mom wardrobe just got *that* much more valuable.

Happy day, Shaunte! Your "lost year" made me laugh-- my mom did the same thing, the year she was 54, I think, except that she thought she was a year OLDER all year. So the next year, when she said she was 54 again, everyone thought she was lying.

And, as for birthdays, it's true what Mom always said: "It's better than the alternative!"

Oh, 34 is so much fun! I myself, have been this glorious age for almost 6 whole months. You know, Oprah says 34 is the new 24 and gosh darn it, I think she's right. Besides, the two of us maturing during the totally gnarly 80's increased our youthful spirits at least 2 decades!
Happy Birthday friend.
